Picmonkey
Makes The Web
Visual
Picmonkey is a powerful online photo editing site that offers more than just photo manipulation. The free account is inexpensive and considerably easier to use than Photoshop.
It’s powerful too!
You can easily create infographics – I do it regularly – and with the collage feature you can add images to the infographics, like the one to the right. It’s simple! Following is how I created the sidebar image.
One: Make sure your images and infographics are prepared. I used two images for my sidebar ad. My book cover image:
And I made an infographic to go along side the cover:
Two: Navigate to PicMonkey.com and from the main menu select the collage option.
Three: A file finder window will open. Find and open at least one image.
Four: The PicMonkey collage window will open. Your images will be in the left hand column. Drag each image to the cells on the right. To add more images to the left side column, click the “Open Photos” button on the left and follow the instructions.
Five: If the image doesn’t fit, not to worry. Mouse over the image and click the “Edit” button in the top left corner of the cell.
Six: In the “Edit Image” window, click “Fit to cell.” The image will shrink to fit.
Seven: If the cell is now too big for the image, reposition the image by clicking on it and moving till it aligns withe the edge.
Eight: Click and drag to edge of the cell to the image.
Nine: Mouse over any cells you don’t need and click the “X” that appears in the top right corner.
Ten: Click and drag the infographic into the blank cell.
Eleven: Save image to your computer and upload to the sidebar.
Simple as that!
